Thundering, grey clouds blacken the sky. tempest storms blow, the winds and rains go wild emotions tossed, circumstances out of my control I hand over the helm to you as my heart is riled.
You do not calm the sea, but the storm intensifies. In my distress I call out to you and you hear me How can I keep from sinking into a sea of despair when it feels like my heart is blown in the debris?
As you guide me safely through the raging storm, you deposit a calm assurance deep within my heart a strong hope that I will pass through these waters others will follow, I can aid, your love to impart.
You hear my pleas, you gently speak to my heart My child you ask how you keep from sinking in despair. It's because you've clung to that hope with all your might a mighty hope that will carry you as your heart I prepare.
With each storm, I grow stronger, love for you deepens standing on your promises, a firm faith rooted deeply that gives me a refuge, a place of great serenity though the storm rages on, there's a peace within me.
I praise you Jesus for you are my hope and my strength I will cling to you with all my might and never let go It is you who keeps me from sinking, Jesus it is you! You have great plans for my life this my heart knows.
You're carrying me from the back lines of the battlefield. I'm sailing my way to the front to be the head, not the tail. The reason for this storm is so I can lead others unto you, exhorting them that through the storm your love will not fail!

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and He did hear my voice out of His temple, and my cry did enter His ears. 2 Samuel 22:7
Sometimes He Calms The Storm All who sail the sea
of faith
Find out before too long
How quickly blue skies can grow dark
And gentle winds grow strong
Suddenly fear is like white water
Pounding on the soul
Still we sail on knowing
That our Lord is in control
Sometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered peace be still
He can settle any sea
But it doesn't mean He will
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His child
He has a reason for each trial
That we pass through in life
And though we're shaken
We cannot be pulled apart from Christ
No matter how the driving rain beats down
On those who hold to faith
A heart of trust will always
Be a quiet peaceful place
